Who we are
My Local Jobs is a hyperlocal job platform connecting independent Australian businesses with local job seekers. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone (optional).
- Job-seeker profile: home suburb/postcode and approximate location, availability, work preferences, headline/bio, and any credentials you add.
- Application content: your 60-second video, cover note and availability, shared with the business you apply to.
- Business details: business name, ABN, location, and ad content.
- Messages exchanged with the other party about an application.
How we use it
To run the service: showing relevant local jobs, delivering your application (including video) to the employer, enabling messaging, ratings, notifications, and processing payments for ad postings. We do not sell your personal information.
Who can see your data
Your application and video are visible only to the business you applied to. Profiles are visible to a business once you apply to one of its jobs. Business profiles and active job ads are public. Access is enforced at the database level with row-level security.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and may use email/SMS and AI providers to deliver notifications and optional features. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account, which removes your profile, applications and uploaded media. Some records (e.g. payment records) may be retained as required by law.
Application and interview videos are automatically and permanently deleted 7 days after the job they relate to closes, so your video is not kept around once the role is no longer being filled.
